LeeRon Zydeco
BIOGRAPHY
Ron Davis aka LeeRon Zydeco is a professional musician with over fifty years of
experience in recording and live performance. His credits include the Four Tops, Spencer Davis, Otis Rush, Bernard Purdie, Sean Costello and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.

He has played keyboards with significant Buffalo bands such as The Lonely Souls, Full House, Barbara St. Clair, Spoon and the House Rockers, Posse, Blue Ox, and Argyle Street Band.

In 1991, he formed LeeRon Zydeco & the Hot Tamales, which became a popular events atrraction in Western New York and played at the Mayoral Inauguration, Buffalo Airport Opening, and many more. The band was the first in the area to blend bluesy Cajun and Tex-Mex music into a roots sound. The group performs throughout the Eastern United States.

"I started playing accordion when I was seven and switched to keyboards when I was around 15 and the Beatles came out," says Davis.

Ron currently also leads the Ronnie Davis Combo, Acid Funk Duo and North Delta Duo which blend his original compositions into music which encompass, blues, soul jazz and trippy funk sounds.

He is a prolific composer who continues to blend his interest in diverse musical styles into his writing and playing. Ron has released ten albums of original music that are featured in the multimedia section of this site.

Ron also had a 25-year career in advertsiing and public relations as a copywriter and media relations director for such firms as Singer Advertising, The Schutte Group, Atto Technology and Gelia Wells & Mohr. 

Ron has also created edu-tainment programs for schools, libraries and community centers where he brings his knowledge of New Orleans music and playing skills to audiences of all ages.

He also was an adjunct professor at Empire State College where he taught his self-created courses on marketing and American Roots Music. He attended UB and holds a BA in Cultural Studies from Empire State College.

He also developed a program for pre-k children with autism at Gateway-Longview.

Ron is married to his wife, Carol, has three grown children and resides in Amherst, NY.

LeeRon has built a reputation for creating a festive party atmosphere for concerts, clubs, weddings, and community/cultural celebrations of all kinds. Based in Western New York State, the group travels throughout the Northeast and beyond. 

The Hot Tamales consist of some of the finest musicians on the roots scene, having performed and recorded with major artists such as Bob Dylan, The Four Tops, Bo Diddley, Taj Mahal, and Bobby Blue Bland. The instrumentation of the band is LeeRon on accordion/vocals, along with guitar or fiddle, bass and drums/rubboard. It is available as a four-piece unit or trio.

LeeRon Zydeco & the Hot Tamales are perfect when you are looking for unique, exciting entertainment or for events with a Louisiana/ New Orleans or Caribbean/Tex-Mex theme. You can be sure our recognizable, danceable music is one that all ages enjoy. 
The Hot Tamales are also available as an acoustic “strolling act” act for events, and LeeRon is also available as a solo artist.

LeeRon Zydeco markets his own line of “A Bite of the Bayou” Cajun New Orleans Food Specialties including Bayou Boogaloo Hot Sauce, Hot ‘n Chunky Salsa, Hot Pepper Swamp Jam and Mardi Gras Mustard. These products are available at Premier Gourmet on Maple Rd in Amherst, NY and at A Touch of Ellicottville in Ellicottville, NY.
