Keyboard Activities
RONNIE DAVIS MUSIC
Ron Davis is a versatile professional keyboardist who has performed with The Four Tops, Otis Rush, Spencer Davis, Sean Costello, Bernard Purdie and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band.
 
Ron has also played in significant local groups in the Western New York area including: The Lonely Souls, Full House, Spoon and the House Rockers, Barbara St. Clair, Posse, Blue Ox and Argyle Street Band.
 
He currently leads the following groups:
 
The Ronnie Davis Combo 
plays organ soul jazz ala Jimmy Smith as well as classic funk and original tune. It consists of an organ, guitar and drums lineup along with featured vocalists and features Doug Morgano on guitar and Ray Hangen or David Wasik on drums.
 
Acid Funk Duo 
is a keyboard/drums unit that plays edgy funk originals as well as trippy covers of the Stones, Band and Animals.This duo also features Hangen or Wasik on drums.
 
North Delta Duo 
plays original blues, soul and zydeco tunes and features Ron on organ/bass, accordion, vocals and Pete Holguin on drums and vocals.
 
The Ron Davis Solo Piano Act 
encompasses his singing and playing a range of juke joint blues and boogie woogie. His repertoire also includes the New Orleans styles of Professor Longhair and Dr. John. as well as swing and rock standards ranging from Ray Charles and Jerry Lee Lewis to Dylan, The Stones, Beatles and The Band.The addition of left-hand acoustic bass gives the act a full, danceable sound.
 
Ron is also available as a sideman for bands and vocalists.

Ron also plays jazz, swing, rock and standards ranging from Ray Charles and Jerry Lee Lewis to Duke Ellington, as well as funky versions of Beatles, Stones and Band classics. The addition of left hand “acoustic bass” on some tunes gives the act a full, danceable sound.

Ron is also available as a sideman for bands and vocalists.

ADDITIONAL WORK
In addition, I do a solo boogie piano act playing barrelhouse honky tonk and New Orleans blues ala Professor Longhair and Doctor John, along with funked-up Beatles and Stones, American standards, and swing jazz including Duke Ellington classics.

I also offer the LeeRon Zydeco New Orleans Music Show (link), an edu-tainment program that provides an up-close opportunity to experience the spicy sounds and rhythms of the New Orleans region. This I present in schools, colleges, libraries and cultural centers. I also use roots music and rhythm as a therapeutic tool in programs for disabled and autistic kids and adults.

In addition, I work with student band directors in a workshop that teaches young musicians the style, feel and improvisational approach to New Orleans funk and blues. See the multimedia section of this site for an example. 

Plus, I offer my own line of “A Bite of the Bayou” Cajun New Orleans Food Specialties consisting of Hot Sauce, Salsa, Spicy Mustard and more!
